
7th January 2008 - Kingsnorth Climate Camp
Manchester activists are involved in the organisation of the Kingsnorth Climate Camp, held on the site of a proposed new coal-fired (aargh can’t remember) power station in Kent.
Manchester also organises a “neigbhourhood” at the camp where people can camp and organise with people who live near them.
Kingsnorth is the largest English Climate Camp, with about 2,000 attendees. The police response is notably heavy-handed and pretty much everyone is stopped and searched on their way into the Camp. would be good to link to video here.
