1st May 1994 - Corporate Watch founded – Manchester & Oxford

An Earth First! meeting in Leeds identifies the need for better research on the corporations that Earth First! is targeting. Initially, the plan is for individuals around the country to take on research tasks, co-ordinated by the Manchester and Oxford Earth First! groups. Later from c.1996 Corporate Watch becomes Oxford based-providing employment for some EF! activists who are skilled researchers and leading to Oxford EF! being nick-named ‘Office First!’. More recently UK Corporate Watch has been based in Bristol – see https://corporatewatch.org/about/.
