26th November 1994 - Anti-consumerist lounge on Market Street

To mark No Shop Day 1995, anti-consumerism campaign group Enough! set up a lounge on market street, complete with sofa. They relax and hand out scones and flyers. The event is filmed for the BBC programme Life Swap, which has arranged for a department store Santa to spend a day with the group. He tells them that they are all communists and not worth a carrot. Later he says that the producers had given him a load of vodka to drink ahead of filming.
