This website is an outgrowth of an academic project conducted by Prof Brian Doherty and Dr Marc Hudson, funded by the ESRC. The project was a continuation of work conducted by Prof Doherty and others 20 years ago, when they interviewed participants in non-violent direct action in Manchester, North Wales and Oxford.
A planned face-to-face workshop in March 2020 was cancelled because of You Know What.
Jane Lawson is a Manchester-based artist and activist. Together with Brian and Marc she is working to create a visually attractive repository of materials.
